Frites Belgium on Tap (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

After finishing our Saturday afternoon training in Sheung Wan, we hung around the area a little looking for a place to chill out. Suddenly, I recalled reading some news about Frites Belgium on Tap opening at the new 198 Wellington and we quickly decided that's where we would spend the next hour before dinner at Doppio Zero, which was just down the street.

On top of their impressive bar, they also have two really big beer halls inside this 7,000 square feet premise.

This looked really like a church with all the stained glass windows and classic chandeliers.

Wing pops ($65) - We needed something to go with our beer so I went with their baked chicken wings without hesitation. The wings were nicely prepared with Leffe Brune Agrodolce sauce.

The Italian sweet and sour sauce ("agro" - sour and "dolce" - sweet) was working wonderfully well with the wings. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Not bad at all.

Mini-burgers ($90) - Less successful were the mini-burgers with grilled cheese, tomato, lettuce and a mayonnaise sauce.

I have had a lot of burgers with too much seasoning before but very rare to have ones that were badly under-seasoned. And where's the smoky flavors from the patty?
